Fletcher Pushes Market Up
The NZ sharemarket rose 12 points today to 3280 on the NZX50 index prompted by a strong lift by Fletcher Building shares.
FBU rose 8c to $6.37. ANZ Bank was up 51 at $27.72 and Westpac fell 57c at $27.52. Telecom added 6c at 214.5c, a gain of 2.9%. Turners Auctions was up 4.4%, or 6c, at $1.42 and Xero rebounded 14c or 5.8% to $2.55.
Summerset rose 4c to $1.42, Delegats added a further 5c at $2.25 and Diligent retrieved 5c at $2.55. Abano leapt 10c to $4.10 and Mainfreight was up 3c at $9.65.
On a light news day there were some prominent decliners : NZX down 8c at $2.63, OceanaGold 6c at $2.95, SKYTV 11c off at $5.17, Port of Tauranga down 5rc at $10.20 and The Warehouse down 7c at $3.03.
